Heckel Discus Symphysodon Discus - found mostly in Brazil Black Rio, this Discus fish has a distinction of "fifth" stripe and has two red and blue varieties. Is the name of Johann Jacob Heckel ichthyologist and the dicus is more difficult to maintain and keep in aquarium, because he likes a bit softer (and lower pH) and warmer water than other species. It has two subspecies, the Chief Blue Discus Symphysodon Discus - which has a blue head (obviously!) And Symphysodon Discus Willischwartzi.
